Automation Engineer - West Dublin.

Role Overview:
Our client seeks a highly-skilled Automation Engineer to join their R&D department at their Dublin campus. The candidate will be required to work on all elements of electrical design for R&D projects from concept generation to design verification. Within this role the successful candidate will be expected to take ownership of and deliver their key technical areas within an R&D framework and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Working as part of the R&D team to design and develop new products in line with Global Marketing product pipelines
  • Develop specifications, implement new designs, analyse and respond to customer feedback
  • Excellent documentation for project reports, SOP's and operating manuals
  • Working to relevant international directives and standards

Interested applicants should have:

  • Minimum level 8 degree in Software/ Automation / Electrical / Mechatronic Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years' relevant experience
  • Good communication skills, fluent English both spoken and written
  • An excellent grasp of engineering and design principles
  • Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, flexible, proactive and committed.
  • Desire to continuously improve, raise standards, reduce errors and perfect processes

Key Technical Skills sought:

  • Equipment specification and selection (motors, PLC’s, HMI, sensors etc.)
  • Electrical design
  • Design and production of electrical schematics ( SolidWorks Electrical preferable)
  • Familiarity with relevant directives and standards for the pharma industry an advantage
  • Machine Design
  • Machine safety and CE marking
  • Able to address risk management requirements/assessments for new and existing products

Advantageous Technical Skills:

  • Programming PLC and HMI systems (Siemens preferable, not essential)
  • Knowledge of scripting languages
  • Knowledge of Python
  • Knowledge of electro-mechanical system design
  • 3D CAD (SolidWorks)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
